Sir George Monist, author of Brave New Climate If you're a regular reader of

Sir George Monist, author of Brave New Climate If you're a regular reader of Environmental Audit, you know that we are big fans of Sir Ian Cameron, Chair of the Committee on Standards in Public Life. He is an independent, non-partisan, professional observer who keeps the UK government's finances open and transparent, and ensures that public trust in government is high. Cameron's work is particularly useful to EA's looking for detailed information on government spending and public spending levels. If you search “Public Spending” on Google Finance, it will automatically list each department for each of the year 2 and 2. The details are also published in the Annual Accounts of the Office of National Statistics. Sir Ian uses these public finance reports to do a number of things. First, he's used them to show how public spending has changed in the past, when it was under the Conservatives and Labor — and since 2. But he also uses them to give a snapshot of public spending over time, in the same way that most financial accounts give a snapshot of cash and investment flows in a firm during a period of financial crisis or boom. You might think that Sir Ian would like to give the data at the start of the fiscal year (1 July) to the Treasury, a sort of “golden” start date of sorts. But the Treasury, like many of our readers, prefers to start the final day of a fiscal year at the start of September. He makes clear in this video that he's happy to share the information in.

Some income tax return preparers offer free or discounted return preparation

Form for Filing and Certification SUMMARY OF INFORMATION In this form you will be asked certain questions about your income and assets, but you only have 25 minutes. It is a good idea to read the whole form before you begin. This is especially so if you are doing additional income tax reporting and do not have this paper work readily available to you. The questions below are typical in that they apply to a wide range of filers in various situations. Some income tax return preparers offer free or discounted return preparation or analysis services, in which case you must use that service to complete your return. Do you have other business income or other income from sources other than just the rental of land? Are you married or married to a different individual than the one for whom you are filing, and would you change that person's filing status (e.g., become single; become married?)? Why did you decide to file as married or living with someone other than yourself? Do you own or lease a vacation home or similar property? What is the value of your rental property? It may be listed somewhere on your return, but its exact value needs to be evaluated. Consider the following common items: how many bedrooms? How much kitchen/bathroom space? How many bathrooms? What is the utility expense for the property? What is the real estate appraisal for the property? What is your estimated mortgage payment, property taxes, and insurance? How does your home compare with your neighbors.

Share UCLA is seeking a public relations firm to assist in the implementation of a partnership with Facebook to develop and manage a campus-wide, community-oriented program to enhance and grow the UCLA community through digital engagement during social activities and other special occasions. The project is funded by a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship in Computational Media, where the project is led by UCLA's Department of Communications and is supported by the National Science Foundation Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program in Computational Media. The project explores the ways that a “Social Impact” concept could support and catalyze social entrepreneurship and other innovative initiatives on campus through a variety of digital-related activities within the University and in the surrounding community. The first phase of the partnership involves UCLA's first dedicated Facebook page (). Following these first efforts, the Facebook page will host more than 300 activities and resources for Facebook users each day and support students, employees, students' peers, alumni, and the public in supporting the Buddy Hudson Project's goals of inspiring the next generation of digital thinkers on campus and around the nation. The Facebook page will be operated by Facebook for UCLA and under the direction of University Marketing and Communications and the UCLA Department of Communications. In addition to the Facebook page, the Buddy Hudson Project.
